Purpose
The purpose of the Llwybrau Llesiant team is to provide an extensive range of services and activities that respond to the needs of adults with learning disabilities in the county. A key part of this work will involve conducting sessions for promoting positive physical, emotional and social well-being.
What is well-being?
Well-being means that you are happy, healthy and comfortable in your life and with the things you choose and wish to do.
Our work focuses on three main aspects of well-being:
- Physical – that we are healthy and fit enough to be able to live our lives as independently as possible.
- Emotional – that we are happy to discuss our feelings openly, and respect ourselves and others.
- Social – we are able to speak with other people, and have the opportunities to make new friends and enjoy companionship in a safe environment.
How can the team promote the well-being of individuals with learning disabilities?
Llwybrau Llesiant is developing various groups and activities across Gwynedd, and on-line. The purpose of these is to promote the physical, emotional and social well-being of individuals with learning disabilities.
By taking part in some of the activities that are available, it is hoped that many more of the individuals with whom we work will join us on the pathway to well-being. Furthermore, we can use the skills we have learned and the friends we have made in our everyday lives.
We work with individuals with learning disabilities to work towards things that are important to them. This can include meeting new people, finding voluntary work, facilitating the process of finding college courses and much more.
