This list contains organisations that are located across Gwynedd, and organisations that operate nationally. The one thing they all have in common is that they share our main goal, which is to promote the wellbeing of adults with learning disabilities.

Gwynedd and Anglesey Shared LivesPartners Symbol

The Shared Lives Scheme is part of the Gwynedd Learning Disability Service, and offers shared lives services in Gwynedd and Anglesey.

Established in 2005, the scheme now consists of many enablers who support long term, short term, respite and day placements.

Our service concentrates on a family sharing their home, family life, interests, experiences and skills with vulnerable individuals who need support to live as independent as possible.

Learning Disability WalesNational Organisation Symbol

Learning Disability Wales are a national charity representing the learning disability sector in Wales. Their work focuses on creating a Wales that values and includes every child, young person and adult with a learning disability.

Much of their work focuses on developing employment opportunities for individuals. They do this by sharing materials and educating employers about the benefits employing adults with learning disabilities can offer both to their organisations and to the individuals themselves.

On their website you will find information about their work, a catalogue of easy read materials, and links to exciting training courses and events that individuals from all over the country can take advantage of.

Autism WalesNational Organisation Symbol

Autism Wales is the National autism site for Wales. Their purpose is to help improve the lives of autistic people and their families in Wales.

On their website you will find information about what autism is, and what training opportunities and services are available online and across Wales. The organisation helps to communicate the national autism strategy set by the Welsh Government, and plays a key role in ensuring that Wales is a country with a good understanding of autism.

Additionally, there are a wide range of materials available to download for free, and all have been developed in collaboration with autistic people, parents/carers and practitioners from all over the country.

Anheddau CyfPartners Symbol

Anheddau Cyf is a non-profit, charitable organisation which empowers adults with support needs to live fulfilled lives in Wales. They can support you to develop your skills, learn new ones and make choices in your every day life.

Anheddau pride themselves on encouraging independence and helping you to achieve a good quality life. If you are looking for friendly, experienced staff to support you then contact Anheddau to discuss what opportunities they have coming up.

Annedd NiPartners Symbol

Anheddau also has a Day Service; Annedd Ni which is based in Bangor. Annedd Ni offers a variety of sessions each week in activities such as drama, art, music, walking club and dance. Annedd Ni also runs skills courses, previously they have offered daily living skills, employment and budgeting courses.

Annedd Ni offers the opportunity to make new friends, improve your skills and try new things. They also hold parties throughout the year, which are usually sell out events!

Antur WaunfawrPartners Symbol

Antur Waunfawr is a social enterprise that provides all kinds of health and well-being, training and employment opportunities to individuals with learning disabilities in the local community.

To ensure sustainability, as well as offering a wide variety of opportunities for the individuals, Antur has a number of businesses, and all profits generated are reinvested back into the service and the local community.

Seren Ffestiniog CyfPartners Symbol

Seren Ffestiniog Cyf are a domiciliary care company established in 1996 In the Ffestiniog area. Now 25 years later, it is well-established and thriving within the local community, opening new doors and opportunities for adults with learning difficulties through supported living.

Seren Ffestiniog Cyf provides day services and work opportunities along with supporting tenants in their own home. Our sister company Gwesty Seren offers supported holidays and respite in our fully adapted and accessible hotel, available for those who chose to spend their leisure time exploring the local area. Every support plan is tailored with the individual to promote independence and a positive experience.

North Wales Advice and Advocacy Association (NWAAA)Symbol Local Organisation

North Wales Advice and Advocacy Association have been providing advocacy services in North Wales since 1997.

Their purpose is to promote and provide advice and advocacy for people facing disadvantage through disability, illness, age or social exclusion, who live, in particular but not exclusively, in North Wales.

Gig BuddiesNational Organisation Symbol

Gig Buddies is a Learning Disability Wales project. Gig Buddies is a befriending scheme that matches people with a learning disability in Wales with a volunteer who shares the same interests so they can go to gigs and events together.

With few events taking place the need for friendship and social contact is more important than ever.

Bridging the Generations (Gwynedd Council)Partners Symbol

Bridging the Generations is a project by the Gwynedd Council's Adult, Health and Wellbeing department. The project's purpose is to bring people of different ages together to develop and take part in a range of activities and projects across Gwynedd.

Our hope is that bringing people from different generations together will strengthen communities in Gwynedd. We work on a range of projects, and collaborate with a number of key partners including but not limited to Llwybrau Llesiant, Dementia Actif Gwynedd, Dawns i Bawb etc. Our projects focus on promoting the individual's wellbeing, and we work towards achieving this by using crafts, music, sports and shared experiences.
