Having a job with a proper wage is really important to people, and it can be difficult for people with learning disabilities to get a paid job.
Most people believe that this needs to change, that's why the North Wales Together Transformation Team is helping the 6 North Wales Councils and the Health Board to develop a plan setting out what needs to happen to help more people with learning disabilities to get a paid job.
The plan will look at
- Working & Benefits – helping to make sure people are better off in work
- Support – help with finding, getting, learning and keeping a job
- The best job for people – making the most of peoples’ skills & abilities
- Big employers – making it easier for people to work for big organisations
How can you help?
- You can come and talk about it in a meeting with other people, they will be held between the 18th and the 22nd of October 2021 (dates, times and locations can be found in the 'Having a Job' PDF document on the bottom of this page).
- You can talk about it in a Zoom meeting (on a computer) with other people, these will also be held between the 18th and the 22nd of October 2021 (dates, times and Zoom passwords can be found in the 'Having a Job' PDF document on the bottom of this page).
- Or, you can talk about it with a group of people you know, like your self-advocacy group. Use the engagement toolkit attached at the bottom of this screen to write notes about group discussions and then send in to Learning.Disability.Transformation@flintshire.gov.uk.
